Kites soaring in the air above us, while we laid on the beach, this was a great day. Living at my beach house during the summer was my favorite part of the whole year. My mom and I have made it a yearly event to stay here. No matter how bad the weather is, we always come down July 1st and stay until August 1st. On our way to the beach, we always stop at this little diner called “Poppa’s Din-Din.” Poppa’s Din-Din has the best homemade triple thick choco-chocolate milkshake in the world. “Quite the milkshake!” my mom exclaimed as we were walking over to the car. Right as we got into the car, I realized that I left my purse in the booth. So, I quickly ran inside and grabbed it and we were then on the move. Traffic was ugly on the way to the beach house, I listened to 500 songs on my iPod at least before we arrived there. Usually when we arrive there, I unpack my bags then head up to my room on the third floor. Very quickly, I made my bed and put my clothes away so I could head out to the boardwalk to try and spot some of my old friends. Waves crashing down, were very loud this summer because of the previous tsunami that hit this area last spring. X-axis Xtreme Sk8 was my favorite store on the boardwalk, so I quickly made my way over there before it closed. Yellow and bright green letters caught my attention as I was running. Zoey’s Ice Cream, was apparently a new store along the boardwalk. As I made my way inside of the new store, smells started to fill my nostrils. Because of my allergy to peanut butter, I started to cough and headed out quickly. Calmly, after I settled myself from the coughing fit, I walked into X-axis. Darren, my favorite cashier waved to me and signaled to come over. Excited, I dash over to him and gave him a big hug. First I explained my issue with the traffic, but eventually we just wound up laughing about something that was on the television. Glad to be back, I headed back home to my house to eat some dinner. Home at last, my stomach was growling louder than a bad storm in the summer, I grabbed some grub and headed up to my room. I finished eating and then I realized how tired I really was. Just as I was laying down, I fell fast asleep.
At least for about 5 years were Joey and Cam friends. Barely were they ever apart in those 5 years. Cam never really did anything that would every seriously hurt Joey, and Joey never did anything that would in turn hurt Cam. During school one day Joey heard a rumor that Cam had been hitting on his girlfriend. Everytime Joey heard a rumor about Cam he tended to ignore it, but this was a little extreme so he wanted to ask around. Finally, Joey found Cam after looking for him in the cafeteria. Guaranteeing himself that the rumor was not true, he mentioned it as a joke to Cam. “Hey, so people are saying you were hitting on Kelly, isn’t that hilarious?” Joey said, with desire for a reassuring response. Irritated Cam snapped, “Who said that?”
Joey replied suspiciously, “No need to snap, i don’t remember who it was…”
“Kate?” he said quickly and forcefully?
Laughing Joey said, “I can’t believe this, im outta here.”
Moving toward the exit of the cafeteria Joey ran into Kelly. Now even she looked suspicious, like she had heard the whole thing or knew that someone told him. Obviously i knew, i pushed right by her and she stood there upset. Patricia, Kelly’s close friend followed after Joey to explain to him what was happening. Quietly she got out of the cafeteria, because if Kelly saw she would try and stop Patricia from telling Joey anything. Rashly, she ran after him. Suddenly she turned a corner and bumped right into Joey! “Tom said you were looking for me,” Joey mumbled. “UGH, Are you going to try and defend her?”he said angrily. ” Very calmly she replied, “No, i wasn’t going to defend her. I think she’s an idiot for ruining something that she had with you.” “What?” he said astonished. “Xanthosis” she said. He giggled “When the skin is colored yellow, Or more often defined as, A women who is stupid. I cannot believe that you can remember that from when we were kids..” “Yup” she said and smiled. “Zucchini cures that you know!” He giggled.
She loved to steal hearts away, to leave her mark on their innocent lives. Enjoyed every moment of her game, stealing their trust away. Xion was her middle name, she liked to play riddles on a date. If it were not for her charms, you’d be safe in another’s arms, loved for truth, for the real thing. Under her grasp, her unforgivable smiling spell, she trapped you in her little lie game. Her play, your move. Puzzle pieces forming your future’s end. Good or bad, she decides. You’re just a puppet in a show, pulled by strings, through her path. Never ending seemingly time. Quickly and silently, while you’re hallucinating her face, her welcoming arms, she strikes out. Time is up, you lost the game. Boredom draws her to a halt, as she throws your puppet heart away. Lost your heart to a wonder for sure, confusion installs for a matter of time, until you break down, drowning in tears. River of tears, emotions mixed in. What went wrong, you ask yourself to sleep. Z’s turn to A’s in nightmares. Open your eyes go back to reality! You’re heart’s puzzle has been destroyed. Cold and lost you’re puppet self has gone with the tide, of tears you’ve not yet paused. Day and night you see her face. Just as real as any other day. Nothing has happened, so it ends. Mending your heart, sewing you’re puppet, filling in the holes that lead to an abyss of your heart. An abyss of sorrow and needs. Finding your way back to Earth, all that has passed has left it’s mark. Fridays are miserable. Kentucky’s summer’s day, leaves you to the south as white feathers start to fall. Very much like her hair, as white as snow, you remember and that is all.
Zed stepped out into his garage in an early October morning, the quiet anticipation of a joy ride on his chopper sit atop his unshaven upper lip. Accustomed to early morning weekend rides he had been for over a decade since he owned his motorcycle. “Better wear my leather jacket,” he thought. Chaps too. Donned his helmet as he slid onto the chopper and thrust the kick start pedal down with a roar. “Exhilarating,” he thought to himself. Four times he revved the gas as the exhaust filled up his garage. Garage door up and off he went into the early morning fog. Hell’s Angels was emblazoned across the back of his jacket. If Zed felt at home anywhere, it was on his chopper where the wheels and road are one. Jersey was the perfect place for a joy ride with its lonely roads and endless fields. Kingpin’s Grille was his destination as his hunger fought with his stomach. Lima beans, eggs benedict and a pot of coffee was his usual. Many years he had been coming to this Grille for the best food in town. Never had he seen what awaited him inside. “O, excuse me,” Zed said to the thief who held the cashier at gunpoint. Perspiration ran down the thief’s face so you could tell he had never done this before. Queer coincidence it was that he wouldn’t live to ever do it again. Right as the cashier handed the thief the bag of money, Zed threw a punch that knocked the thief over the counter and into tomorrow.
All was good until noon. Besides having a pop quiz that I failed, it was okay. Clearly, I thought failing a pop quiz was the worst thing that could happen. Dread filled me as I realized I was wrong. Emotions started to filled me. Frustration, fear, and desperation. Greed filled eyes suddenly was staring at me.Hate was filled in those eyes. I stifled a scream and began running.
“Joe! Killing me won’t help! Listen to me!” Madness in those green eyes was still there. Nothing could stop him. Only his snarl could be seen as he lunged for me. Prickling tears ran over me as my ex-boyfriend tried for the kill. Quickly I dived to the left and he fell to the ground. Recognizing a chance, I started to run again while he was down, but he had caught my ankle. Snake like hands roughly pulled my hair and started to choke me.

Unwillingly, I pretended to lose my fighting spirit and caressed Joe’s cheek. Vicious snarls stopped and his hands loosened for a second. With quick nimbleness she punched his jaw and managed to slink away.
“Xanthopsia.. It’s because of this you broke up with me, aren’t am I right?! ”
“You are crazy!! ” Zig-zaggedly I ran with pounding heart, not believing what happened.
Away in a small forest around a little lake, the girl went to gather wood for her fireplace. Buried in the snow, the branches and pieces of wood were soggy and it was difficult to find any usable logs. Chilly wind bit at the girls face and she shivered in her thin winter coat, pulling it more tightly around herself. Darkness crept over the forest as the fiery sun sank below the black pines. Edging her way around a fallen tree, the girl glanced at her meager collection of wood scraps and sighed. Fear crept over her as she realized how late it was and how far she had wondered from the cottage she lived in. Gaps in the canopy above allotted her a view of the stars above. Hunger forced a loud protest from her stomach and, despite her inadequate supply of wood, the girl turned back the way she had come and began to retrace her steps. It took her a few seconds to process the situation in front of her; the hem of her long coat had dragged against the shallow snow behind her and completely erased her footprints. Judging her predicament with a calm that surprised her, the girl tried to think of a way out of this dilemma. Kicking herself mentally, the girl remembered the compass her father had given her before she had set out into the forest. Laughing, the girl stuck a numb hand into her pocket…and felt a cool breeze on her exposed fingertips. Mystified, the girl brought her jacket up close to her eyes and peered in. Nothing was there; just a gaping hole in the fabric where her father’s compass had resided. Open mouthed with horror,

Amy walked through the streets she would always know and love. Born and raised in New York City she considered herself to be a true New Yorker through and through. Counting the number of times she passed by these store front windows, was overcome with a flock of memories. Dare after dare she used to be that girl who never turned one down. Everyone had known this and her friends had thought it would be fun to make a list of dares for her to complete. Finally when all the dares were completed she could then call herself a true New York dare devil they told her. “Good.” she had simply replied, and as they all shook on it they decided that the first assignment would begin this evening. How could they have known what would happen? Its not like they planed for things to turn out like they did. Just maybe if they had stop to think before making that one dare in particular…things would be different. Keeping her head held high, Amy refused to allow the memories to over come her. Listening to a siren nearby made trying to forget impossible. Many people had joined the game she remembered thinking that she really had to do it now. “Never give up and never let them down” echoed in her head as she walked toward the gathering of people in Central Park for her finale dare. Only her sense of reason to guide her, she recalled feeling very alone as she walked. People had turned something that had always been fun for her into a chore. Quiet laughter swept through the wind. Right now was a memory in the making. Some how she knew it was a bad one. Two of her friends came over with the list in their hands. “Until mornining you have to stay out on the streets. V. W. X. Ally the alligator was feeling sick one day. Before, he had eaten a whole elephant. Carefully, he laid himself down for a long nap. During this process, his stomach began to ache. Eventually, after a long, painful few hours he began to feel drowsy again. Finally, he fell into a deep sleep, filled with crazy dreams. Gorillas danced in circles around him, grunting unintelligible. He grew very scared, not knowing he was in a dream. Illness overcame Ally and he awoke with is stomach piercing him with pain.
” Jaguar,” someone shrieked in terror.
“Kill it,” someone else said.
“Let me,” said Ally, staggering to is feet. “More than once, I have saved someone from a jaguar.”
“No,” they replied, “You are much too sick.”
“Oh no! Please, I’m not too sick,” Ally said as he collapsed on the ground. Queer dreams danced around in Ally’s head again as he slept.
Autumn is the best time of year. Being outside in the autumn is so refreshing. Clara Roberts loved this time of year with all of her heart. Deep into the pumpkin patches Clara was picking pumpkins for he yard. Even her best friend Zelda came along. Feeling happy with their pumpkin choices Clara and Zelda decided to go for a walk around the farm they were at.
Goats “baaahed” at the girls as they walked by. Horses gnawed on hay and flashed ugly smiles as they chewed. “I want ice cream!” exclaimed Zelda. “Just wait another minute, I want to see the fish in the pond!” Clara said already walking there. Koi fish swam in tangles when the girls fed them from the food dispenser nearby. “Look at them, they’re so hungry!” giggled Zelda. “My fish don’t eat that much!” Clara said laughing at the frenzied fish. “Now can we go get ice cream?” groaned Zelda. “Okay, let’s go,” Clara said feeling a little hungry herself.
“Pecan vanilla sound good,” commented Clara. “Questionable flavor though,” said Zelda. “Reeces pieces sounds good too,” suggested Clara. “Simple vanilla for me,” declared Zelda. “Triple fudge for me please!” sang Clara. Under the big tree the girls sat and eat their delicious ice cream.
“Vanilla is the best flavor!” said Zelda in awe.
It was the last day of school and everybody was ready for summer. Jack was standing at the door so he could burst out as soon as the bell rang. Kids began to line up behind him. Little by little, the clock was ticking. Mrs. Nutterbutter told everybody to have a good summer just as the bell rung. Never had she seen kids run out of her class so fast. Outside now, Jack screamed, “Summer is here, Woo Hoo!” Parents were waiting for their kids in car line which was where Jack was headed. Quickly, he ran to his mom’s car. “Ride up front today Jack,” called his mom from the driver’s seat. “Sweet,” replied Jack. “Tell me son, how was your last day of school?” Uneventful was what he was thinking, but he just said, “Fine.” Violently his mom stepped on the gas and they were on their way home ready to get summer started. “Waves, sand, sun, and fun, what do you think of that?,” said his mom. Xylophone music in the background from the radio, Jack replied with, “Sounds cool, why?” Your dad and I have decided to take an early vacation this summer so when we get home, start packing. Zigzagging down the road, Jack’s mom turned on their street and pulled in their driveway seconds later. Another summer starting off well. Before, he thought he would have nothing to do for a few days, but not he was going to the beach. Content, but excited, Jack ran upstairs to pack because they were leaving the next morning. DO NOT ENTER, the sign on Jack’s door, as he walked into his room. Everything was a mess in his room, so he started cleaning up so he could find his things to take to the beach. Fifteen minutes later his room was clean and he began to get things ready to take. Goggles, bathing suits, sun glasses, and much more. “Here I come beach,” he screamed showing his excitement.
Today was a typical day of school. Unable to focus because I was so tired, I just zoned out during my first three classes. “Very nice, job,” my english teacher said to me as he handed back our essays. We had to write a memoir and I did mine on the first time I played the xylophone. Xylophones are so beautiful to play, and fun to mess around with when you’re bored. You can creative some awesome melodies if you play around with different notes. Zack, my best friend, and I both headed to lunch after english. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” he joked as he pulled out an apple from his lunchbox. Besides the two of us, we sat with our friends Caitlin, Dan, and Erika. Caitlin is the quietest of the bunch, Dan the loudest, and Erika is just like me and Zack. Dan was busy making a scene in the lunch line while Erika, Zack, and me laughed. Even after he got the piece of pizza he wanted, he still wasn’t satisfied. “Freakin’ lunch ladies are so annoying,” he complained as he sat down. Gabbing away, I lost track of time and lunch was over. Happily, I walked to my favorite class of the day; art. Instead of our usual teacher, Mr. Smith, we had a substitute today. Just as I started taking out my project, the substitute informed us that we would not be working out any art today, but we would have a study hall instead. Kind of annoyed the rest of the day, I kept everything tuned out. Later on, the final bell rang and I headed towards my bus. My mom texted me right as I got on saying that she was going to pick me up by the main office in 5 minutes. Not being able to get off the bus, I texted her back explaining my situation. Obviously annoyed, she called me with a snippy attitude and complained that I would be late for my forgotten orthodontist appointment. Purposely slow, I walked home from the bus stop to release some of my frustration. Quite frankly, I didn’t care for the orthodontist and if being late meant a possible cancellation, I was going to make myself late. Rather than canceling, my mother called the office and postponed my appointment for tomorrow. So, I completed my homework, ate my dinner, took a shower, and now have something to not look forward to tomorrow.
Maggy, i liked your story
An amazing monkey was spinning on a bike at the zoo. Bananas the Monkey decided to get off the bike because he was tired. Cantaloupe was brought to him as a reward because he really liked cantaloupe. Deserving a reward was why Bananas rode the bike. Eating the cantaloupe was his favorite thing to do. Furiously he made monkey noises till he got his treat. Grapes were his second favorite food. His excited ringmaster always told him what direction to start off in, but one day the ringmaster lost his voice. It was a very lonely day for Bananas. Jamming out was one of his favorite pastimes on his days off from the zoo. Koalas came to jam out with him so he wouldn’t be so lonely. Lemurs heard their noise, and decided to tell them to be quiet because they were having a Canasta game. Music blew them away with the volume. Nasty lemurs went back to their cage and tried to focus but they couldn’t, so they decided to swing on their trees. Ostriches heard the lemurs and decided to go to their ostrich watering hole and join in the fun. “Please can we join in the fun?” said the ostriches. Queen Ostrich came over and asked what the noise was next to her pen. Rosalina Lemur answered, “It’s not us, it’s the monkeys, so and talk to them.” So the Queen Ostrich got her loyal servants to take her to them. The monkeys saw her coming and ran. Under an umbrella they hid until she went away. Very slowly, they creep out to make sure she wasn’t coming back. “What was going on over there?” the ostriches asked Queen Ostrich. “Xylophones were being played! Yodeling was happening along with the xylophones.”
Zoo keepers were coming to open the zoo, so suddenly the noise stopped and the zoo was peaceful again.
Zoos are my favorite place ever! All different types of animals surround me and i get to hear many noises. Basically, there isn’t an animal i dislike. Canine teeth of the baboon make me wonder if they ever kill each other. Don’t they get hungry and just attack? Ever since I was little, I loved turkeys. Feathers spread across their back with pretty colors blending together. Gobbles are the ugliest feature though, they don’t do anything and they’re wrinkly. Hungry for lunch, i sit with my friends and take a break from wandering around. Inside the cafeteria its very chaotic. Jumbo hot dogs for $7 and an ice cream sundae for $4.75. Kangaroos are our next destination. Little ones still in the pouch are so cute as their mommy’s bounce around. Massospondylus bones are interesting but they aren’t my favorite so we moved on. Next, we went to the water animals. Octopus are hard to see so we put 2 quarters in the under water telescope. People were lined up behind us because they wanted to see too. Quickly, the fish swim past, hoping the shark wouldn’t get to them. Rat fish go by and disgust me. So, we went to the wild animals area. Tigers were sleeping close to each other. Urial ears are what i like because they are horns in the shape of semi circles. Viciously, they attack each other but it entertains me. Whales were not in the zoo anymore because they were too expensive to care for but i didn’t care that much because they weren’t exciting. Xiphias were the animal of the day. Young people liked them because of their long noses that looked like swords. Zebras were the last thing we got to see today. After a great day at the zoo, i am very exhausted.
Adrian,Brandon,Carly,Daniel,Emily,Fiona grabbed huge inexpensive juice container at the store. Kandy,Lia,Mandy,Nyla operated the candy machine. Pat,Quinton,Raven,Sandy took there brothers and sisters to the park. Unicorns were flying in the air at night. Violets are in the garden at the Wilderness park. Mr. X was yelling at his kids. Zander was playing with his cards.
At last, its game time. Basketball game that is, a game we have to win. Champs of ’10 sounds like it would be nice to have. Don’t know if were actually going to win but i have confidence and hope. Everyone including the school, family, and friends will be watching. Finally it’s time to see if we are truly the best team in the league. God knows what will happen and what the outcome of the game will be. Harder the game will be the better we become. I have a feeling we have a good chance to win this game. Just a couple more minutes before the game starts. Kyle the captain, rallies up the team to make a speech before the game starts. “Last game of our season, no regrets, no quitters, we have to win this to prove ourselves if we truly are the best team”. Microphones were louder then ever at the basketball stadium as they were announcing the teams and each player. Now, finally its time to do start. Oscar, our center standing at 6’5 got the ball to us first. Quacking came from the other stands to pump up the team since they were called the ducks. Ryan shoots a three pointer. Swish the ball goes in like a football through a field goal post. Time was up it was the last quarter, the score was 78-81, them. Until it was the last 5 seconds, it was 101-101 and i was fouled on as i had one penalty shot. Voices were heard upon the crowd saying things like “He can do it” “He’s not going to make it” “I would not want to be in his shoes if he missed”, but i put that all beside me, closed my eyes, and shot the ball. “WIN”!!! as everyone from my team and school shouted as the ball made a swish. Xylophones and other instruments were playing as the celebration of our win continued. Yelling and screaming were head everywhere and i was more proud of myself then ever and so were my parents. The basketball stadium sounded like a zoo as they were chanting my name and this will be a moment I will never forget.
good job stephen
All things in this world, are beautiful. Beauty is said to be in the eyes of the beholder so depending on who’s looking, everything can be considered lovely. Cold, hot, dry, wet. Does it matter what it feels like? Everywhere is different. Folks in different places see different wonders that take the breath away. Going from place to place you see and experience new things. Heaven is n the earth in the things that are rare to see. If you just open your eyes, you will see. Just by seeing a picture or meeting someone new you can find something beautiful. Kindhearted people are beautiful. Love is beautiful. Moments that make you smile are beautiful. Never the less, beauty is found everywhere weather your looking or not. Open your self to trying new things. Put yourself out there and just believe. Quickly before the moments pass. Ready, set, GO! Setting yourself up for something that may not happen is a waste of time and air. There is too little time in life to see nothing. Usually looking back you see regrets and mistakes. Violent, cruel, and sad memories come to mind. Wonder about how they could have be changed. X-rays of the heart are in the mind. You are the beholder, you see the beauty. Zone in zone out, what ever it takes to see true beauty.
